Lockdown 2 homework. Week 1: Raing

The first lockdown proved to be a very fruitful time and like many, I enjoyed it, for all its problems. As i have written, the second lockdown has proved to be much harder, for a variety of reasons. One of the highlights of the first lockdown was the homework, set by the MPA and judged by the MPA chairman Ray Lowe.

For the homework, we were given 4 topics, one topic each week.

Week 1: Rain

Unfortunately, for week one we didn’t have much rain, in fact, the only time it rained was when I was taking this photo and it was very light and didn’t last long. So, really I didn’t get the images that I really wanted, with the first photo being the only photo taken when it was actually raining. The photo is OK but not particularly good. I edited out a house in the background but generally the image is underwhelming.

For the next two images, I basically did a portrait, which showed what it was like after being out in the rain (actually after I had a shower)/ First, just after getting soaked and then drying off.

One thing to notice between the two portraits is how I treated colour. The first image, whilst I am wet I added a blue gel in post, to give it a cool wet feel, whilst with the second photo, I added a warmer orange gel, to signify feeling better.
