The need to update my portfolio

I find myself in an interesting position, which is good but frustrating. What I find is my photography skill improves in waves. When I started, my photography was average and slowly (too slowly for me), I have improved and I can see this with my work but I haven’t done enough regular work for a variety of reasons, to consistently improve.

With lockdown, I was unable to shoot anyone other than myself but I turned it into a project and it had a massive effect on my photography. This was helped by me looking at other photographers work. I invested in a number of photography books, from some of the great photographers and analysed their images, not to copy their styles but to help improve my style.

So the position I now find myself in is one, where much of my photography work, very much feels out of date and I need to create a new portfolio to help me show the level of work that I am now capable of doing. This means that I will have to put out some model calls to update my portfolio.
