Neurodiversity. Who we are.

I have been doing photography for 20 years and before that I did a degree in video production. Way back before that though for a short period of time I worked in a camera shop, where the owner said he would 'teach me photography'. Unfortunately, his teaching was to lend me a Olympus OM10 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens and a big white book, which because I am dyslexic, I found incredibly hard to read. After 3 months, I was sacked and told that I had no talent for photography and should go and do something more appropriate to my skills and stack shelves at Sainsbury's.

30+ years later, I am an award winning photographer but it has been a very long journey, with highs and lows. I have struggled with anxiety and depression and currently I am waiting to be diagnosed with ADHD, to go with my dyslexia.

Currently, I am working towards my Associate qualification with the Master Photographers Association. As a part of this I have to submit 20 images that are up to an Associate level. Being a professional organisation, one of the most important rules is I have to make a profit on the 20 images, hence I cannot do it for free.

After many months of planning and then re-planning. I have finally settle on doing my associate panel on Neurodiverse people and how they see themselves?

So if there is anyone who is dyslexic, dyspraxia or has dyscalculia or dysgraphia, or ADHD, are on the autism spectrum or have tourette's and would like to be a part of this project, please contact me through my website.

This will be a unique project and I hope to provide a printed piece of wall art with a stunning image.
